Lighter Life - no thanks!

Apologies for not posting for a while. I have been deciding what to do about the Lighter Life diet. And I’ve decided I dont like it! To be honest, it’s no fun whatsoever and I really missed the preparation of food and eating of food and having to act like a social outcast.

So I’ve bought myself a copy of Mens Health and have decided to join the gym this week. This is how I’ve stayed trim in the past - I just think I went a bit wayward.

To be fair to Lighterlife it really does work for some people, but just not for me. I have a keen interest in nutrition anyway and exercise and working out but I’ve just become extremely lazy. I’m also under the impression that it might be a bit extreme and I want to just change my whole lifestyle but I still want to enjoy it.

Basically the whole thing was just too boring for me. Here goes the hard way! Wish me luck.

Lighterlife Day 7: 2nd Weigh in

Well I’ve lost 6.5 pounds in my first week. I’m neither pleased nor displeased! I’m going to up my running to try and get a bit more off I think. The posts for tonight and last night have been lame. I promise to write something decent and worthwhile every day next week.

The other bloke in my lighterlife group has lost 21 pounds in his first 10 days. Thats phenomenal.

The Lighterlife introduction

So I have just returned from the Lighterlife introduction session. It was just me and two women there. The counseller was very nice and also used to be a chunk, which she isn’t now so that was a bit of a motivator.

We had to sit in a room and watch a DVD. I was slightly worried that it would brainwash us and I’d end up in a cult or something. Anyway it didn’t. It also wasn’t too cheesy a DVD and showed some good fat loss stories.

The diet seems ideal for me and I’m going to go with it. I need to go to the doctors before I begin as the weight loss is so quick and its a VLCD (Very Low Calorie Diet) consisting of 550 calories a day, so you need some kind of medical supervision.

First steps - choosing the right diet

I have never been on a proper diet before. I’d always watched what I ate until a couple of years ago. I’ve been planning on doing something about getting fit for ages but with work and everything I’ve been putting it off.

The missus for some reason bought a magazine called Lighterlife (shes under 9 stone wet through) and I got reading on the toilet as it was the only thing available apart from Heat. The stories seem like you can lose weight really quickly and thats what I’m after.

So I jumped on their website and found a “counseller” near me so I could sign up to Fat Club. So I’ve got a meeting at the end of the week to check everything out.
