Well, amazingly its been quite easy after Christmas with the dieting. I’m going to start my running from today too. I’ll have my final few beers on new years eve and the big push.
Have a good un!

I’m going to start putting recipes up and gradually make them better over time.
This is a really simple way to get a couple of eggs into your diet in the morning, good for building muscle etc. This omelet has the following nutritional values:
Serving Size: 190g
Energy: 273.5 calories
Total Fat: 19.3g (Sat fat: 5.2g)
Protein: 18.3g
Ingredients:
2 eggs
Half an onion (diced)
Instructions: Beat the eggs in a bowl. Chuck in the diced onion. Put in microwave for 2.5 minutes on high. Pow! A quick omelet. It wasn’t too bad taste wise - but had the consistency of a hat. I think a few spices could be used and maybe a splash of low fat milk.
Well here goes, I’m hoping that this will motivate me into being embarrassed enough to drop the pounds!
Note the size of gut and ill fitting shirt.

First ever Gut Cam - 27th December 2009

First Ever 'The Clothes Mark' image - 27th December 2009.
I am aiming for the shirt to fit nicely by 23rd January 2010. Lets go fatboy!
Well, I had many ups and downs in 2009 - this lead to me totally neglecting this blog, as well as my waistline. I feel ready now to go for it and am going to start from today, 27th December 2009, and plan to lose my belly in 2010.
I have new motivation in my life, my wonderful girlfriend is expecting our first baby in May 2010. This is giving me the extra impetus I need. I am also going to try some new motivational techniques. Including something I am calling Gut Cam. This is where I take a photo everyday of my gut to see if I can use this as inspiration to push me to make more effort!
I am also going to be using what I am calling The Clothes Mark. This is where I get an item of clothing, that shall we say, is a little snug and set a date for when it is going to fit me nicely. I have a good sense of humour and can use this to laugh at myself and motivate me at the same time.
I am also a keen cook so I am going to be making a real good effort on the nutrition plan. Here goes!
Well I’m back on this mission with a vengeance. I’m going to use this to track my progress and see what works for me and what doesn’t.
I’ve decided it has to be a combination of fitness and diet and a whole change of lifestyle. Here goes!
Just a quick post to say that its all going well, I’ve been eating again and Ive dropped a few pounds a week. Ive been eating loads of Tuna and cottage cheese! It all seems to be working well though.
Well this is what I went for on my first calorie counting trip to Tescos.
I have NO IDEA why I bought the mackerel - I’ve never had it and it doesn’t look particularly appetising. I think it was a knee jerk reaction to to the fishmongers question of “is that all?”. Theres a couple of slip ups in there suh as the alcohol but as I figured I’m in it for the long haul I can do that. Bonus!
Apologies for not posting for a while. I have been deciding what to do about the Lighter Life diet. And I’ve decided I dont like it! To be honest, it’s no fun whatsoever and I really missed the preparation of food and eating of food and having to act like a social outcast.
So I’ve bought myself a copy of Mens Health and have decided to join the gym this week. This is how I’ve stayed trim in the past - I just think I went a bit wayward.
To be fair to Lighterlife it really does work for some people, but just not for me. I have a keen interest in nutrition anyway and exercise and working out but I’ve just become extremely lazy. I’m also under the impression that it might be a bit extreme and I want to just change my whole lifestyle but I still want to enjoy it.
Basically the whole thing was just too boring for me. Here goes the hard way! Wish me luck.
Well I’ve lost 6.5 pounds in my first week. I’m neither pleased nor displeased! I’m going to up my running to try and get a bit more off I think. The posts for tonight and last night have been lame. I promise to write something decent and worthwhile every day next week.
The other bloke in my lighterlife group has lost 21 pounds in his first 10 days. Thats phenomenal.
Right I’ve had the right hump today. I’ve been hungry and gagging for a beer. I’m worried that if my weigh in tomorrow goes badly I’m going to be demotivated. I’m not going to right anything more tonight and see how it goes tomorrow.
